Sodium butyrate is a stable source of butyric acid, which is the first source of energy for enterocytes. Its main function is to increase the nutrients’ absorption area (intestinal villi at the jejunal level). On the other hand, it has anti-bacterial properties against Gram (-) bacteria. Being coated, sodium butyrate guarantees its release in the duodenum and jejunum by action of the pancreatic juice.

It is used in all species, improving productive parameters and intestinal health.
